About Us

UAW Local 12 – Lucas County 911 Dispatch Unit proudly represents more than 125 highly skilled 911 Public Safety Calltakers, Dispatchers, and Telecommunicators serving the Lucas County 911 Regional Council of Governments.

Our members answer and process over 500,000 emergency and non-emergency calls for service each year, ensuring that help is delivered quickly and effectively when it matters most. We are responsible for dispatching 13 fire departments and 18 police departments, coordinating response across 5 cities, 5 villages, and 11 townships throughout Lucas County.

As the first line of response for both emergency and non-emergency situations, our members are committed to safeguarding and supporting the more than 426,000 residents and countless visitors of Lucas County.

We take pride in our vital role at the heart of public safety—providing calm, professional, and reliable service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

UAW Local 12 is an amalgamated local union with 41 units, representing workers across multiple sectors in Ohio, including automotive, manufacturing, gaming, technical office & professional, and the public sector to name a few. We are autoworkers at Toledo Jeep, Piston Automotive, Technical Office & Professional workers at Lucas County, St. Vincent, City of Toledo,  Healthcare workers in Lucas County, St. Vincent, Legal Workers at TLL Associates, and many more.
